Teachers are the key stakeholders in education.
It gives me immense joy to know that the new edition of our school magazine TATVA is being released during the Annual Day celebrations in December 2025. On this occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the teaching and non-teaching staff, our dear children, management, Parents and everyone associated with Mahaveer Vidya Mandir
Teachers are the key stakeholders in education. The ancient adage “Acharya Devo Bhava” elevates teachers to the level of the divine. Yet, society, government, and the system often fail to take adequate care of them. This neglect is not just unfair to teachers—it is detrimental to the entire community. When teachers suffer, society suffers in the long run.
We see the consequences around us today: unrest in schools and colleges, rising violence, exploitation, and social disharmony. A silent “unrest revolution” is unfolding in our educational institutions. Teachers are exhausted, helpless, and hopeless. Many are quietly quitting their jobs, while others withdraw emotionally. Disturbingly, the younger generation is losing interest in becoming teachers altogether.
If we truly value education, we must value our teachers. They are the foundation of learning, the torchbearers of wisdom, and the guardians of our future. Let us commit ourselves to creating a system that nurtures, respects, and supports them—because when teachers thrive, society flourishes.
Teachers and the Paradoxes of Modern Education
Education stands on the shoulders of teachers. Yet, paradoxically, the very system that depends on them often undermines their role. Let us pause to reflect on the contradictions shaping the lives of teachers today:
Caught in Bureaucracy: Teachers spend more time filling reports, uploading data, and navigating forms than teaching. The joy of imparting knowledge is buried under paperwork.
Technology Over Human Touch: Digital tools, apps, and smart boards are valuable, but when forced upon every classroom, they risk overshadowing the warmth of human connection — the care and sharing between teacher and learner.
Event Managers in Disguise: From Yoga Day to Environment Day, teachers are expected to orchestrate endless events. Celebration is important, but when every day becomes an event, teaching loses its rhythm.
The Rural Struggle: In villages, two or three teachers often shoulder the responsibility of hundreds of students. Their dedication is heroic, but the imbalance is unsustainable.
Psychological Stress and Loss of Esteem: Constant top-down monitoring erodes confidence. Teachers feel watched, judged, and stripped of autonomy, leading to exhaustion and despair.
Core Purpose Lost in Details: The pressure to “finish the syllabus” overshadows the deeper mission of education — nurturing curiosity, values, and wisdom.
From Guides to Service Providers: Students increasingly see teachers as mere service providers. Respect and reverence are fading, replaced by transactional expectations.
A Call to Trust the Teacher
The paradox is clear: while teachers are indispensable, they are treated as expendable. If the teacher leaves, the school may remain — but education will not.
It is time to restore trust in teachers. To respect their wisdom, to lighten their burdens, and to let them do what they do best: inspire, guide, and nurture the next generation.
Best wishes to all the students who have excelled in Curricular, Co-curricular and Extracurricular activities. All the best for your coming exams. Do your best and leave the rest.
With deep respect and heartfelt gratitude, I pen this message as the Vice President of Mahaveer Vidya Mandir. Being the son of Shri Hemchand Ji—who dedicated his time, energy, and vision to the growth of this school—is both my pride and my guiding force. His blessings continue to inspire me every day as I carry forward his commitment to this institution.
Mahaveer Vidya Mandir is more than a school; it is a place where values are nurtured, dreams are shaped, and young minds learn to believe in themselves. Here, education is not limited to classrooms—it touches character, builds confidence, and prepares students to face the world with courage and compassion.
Our school magazine reflects this beautiful journey. It showcases the talent, imagination, and achievements of our students, reminding us that every child has limitless potential. It is also a tribute to the dedication of our teachers and the unwavering support of our parents, without whom our progress would not be possible.
As we look ahead, my message to every student is simple yet powerful:
Dream big, work hard, stay humble, and never forget the values that make you who you are.
With determination and discipline, there is no limit to what you can achieve.
Together, let us continue to build a school that inspires excellence and touches lives—just as my father envisioned.
